As co-heirs with Christ, we share in His sufferings, but also in His glory. It also means that we have a responsibility to live as children of God, obeying His commands, and serving Him with our lives. Ultimately, the concept of being an heir to the kingdom of God reminds us of God's great love for us and His desire to bless us with an inheritance that can never be taken away: eternal life and a special place in His kingdom.
